Louisville Art Association National Photography Show

I was happy to  be selected to participate in the 2024 National Photography Show put on by the Louisville Art Association. The show opens on May 24th and runs through June 2nd. Framed artwork is for sale as are some additional prints in sleeves.  https://louisvilleartassociation.org/2024-nps-show/

The photograph that was selected, “Night Ride”, was taken on the evening of 2 May 2016 in Chicago. I had been attending a conference during the day and afterward had made my way out to the Adler Planetarium Skyline Walk for some shots looking back towards the city skyline. While walking back to my hotel I snapped this photo of a lone cyclist heading into the tunnel under DuSable Lake Shore Drive just north of the Field Museum.  I like how the the glow from the street light just outside the frame on the upper left and the blossoming trees sort of balance each other and how the pathway gently curves through the scene. I also got lucky with the biker’s feet being just in the right position–one up and one down.

The framed work for the show was printed on Ilford B&W paper by Whitewall Labs and measures 10x16 inches.
